Owners of LaMode Cleaners Pass on More Than a Dry Cleaning Business
Dean and Deanna Wilson retiring from their 43-year family tradition of community support and superior customer service
Mountain Home, Idaho - A few million shirts have kept Dean and Deanna Wilson gainfully employed for more than 40 years, but keeping uniforms clean has only been a small part of operating a dry cleaning business just minutes from one of our nation's largest air bases. So many area residents are far from home, and often without family, awaiting their call to deploy to a war in a foreign country. The Wilson's provide a warm, compassionate refuge where the "kids" can drop off their uniforms and get a hug from "mom," as they call Deanna. Now the Wilson's are planning to retire and hope to find a new owner who will continue their tradition of exceptional service and the personal touch of a kind word or reassurance to all of their loyal customers.
The Wilson's bought LaMode Dry Cleaners in 1963, and it has provided a comfortable lifestyle with a rich community history. They have seen thousands of air men and women depart for Vietnam, the Gulf War and Desert Storm. Deanna said, "I never say goodbye, just I'll catch you on the fly." They have stayed in touch with so many who have served our country over the years. Now many of them are also retiring, stopping by on their way through town to thank the Wilson's for the encouraging support they provided.
But after supporting the community's residents and themselves with LaMode Dry Cleaners, it's time to pass on the family run business to a new "mom." The Wilson's are seeking a new owner who will carry on their tradition of going beyond providing basic cleaning and tailoring services by also providing compassionate support for our airmen and women.
